Olof Kristjansdottir, RN, MS is a doctoral student in the Interdisciplinary PhD program at Dalhousie University. Her main supervisor is Dr. Patrick McGrath and her co-supervisor is Dr. Gudrun Kristjansdottir, and her supervising committee consists of Dr. Allen Finley, Dr. Anita Unruh, and Dr. Hélène Deacon. Olof's research interests focus on children's pain, specifically around interventions for acute procedural pain (i.e., needles) and the influence of culture on children's pain experiences. Apart for being a trainee at the Centre for Research in Family Health, Olof is also a trainee at the Centre for Pediatric Pain Research at the IWK Health Centre, and in the Pain in Child Health (PICH) program of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Olof has received funding from PICH, the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, the Killam Trusts and the Icelandic Centre for Research. Her doctoral work has also been supported by The Icelandic Nurses' Association.
