The new Project Director for the CIHR Strategic Training Program: Pain in Child Health is Barb Brown. Barb's academic background includes a Master of Business Administration, (Saint Mary's University, Halifax); Bachelor of Business Administration/Distinction, (Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax); Bachelor of Arts/Distinction/Senate Medal (Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax).

Barb's background includes managing university level adult education programs, both in the I/T field and in business. Also, she spent time as a counseling representative at the Prior Learning Assessment Centre in Halifax.

In addition to strong administrative and program management skills, Barb has published a book review in the Canadian Journal for University Continuing Education and was invited to do a presentation on the "The Impacts of Technological Innovation on Continuing Education" at the annual conference of the Mexican Association for Continuing Education.
